my thought is that the unpleasant feeling is due to an association you've got
with that personage from the last time you'd been in contact -- when the split
was made. it's as if you'd parted ways with someone during a roller coaster
ride, and the queasy sensation of that time is remembered when you remeet.
it could be that you don't need words to convey your feelings to this visitor.
