I had a similar dream before I moved from my last home
H:O:R:A:C:E only that time I was upstairs and a male energy was coming up the stairs. I stood at the top with my hands out shouting 'who are you' (again I couldn't get the words out properly) and the man carried on coming up. I didn't see him at all on this occasion and I woke up before it reached the top but the same distressing, panicky feeling was the same as in this dream. I woke myself by shouting out loud the exact same way. In fact my windows were open as it was summer and my neighbour asked if I was ok when they saw me as they heard me shouting in my sleep
