I guess with regard to this concept of taking from others for your own selfish gain, the law of life that returns what you give out and multiplies it in return could be scary for these people.
It seems to me people who intend giving to others are the ones who prosper most in life.
When you described the stereotype it sounds exactly what a psychopath is. They are people with no concept of right or wrong, and empathy doest exist.
