In our search for truth it does seem necessary that the male and female within ourselves becomes balanced, and both sides equally important. This is a picture of that idea from Hindu thought:
Both male and female, not one or the other. Yin and Yang have the same sense, Yin
and Yang, both balanced and working together.
If 'male' was then to mean spiritual later, it seems to suggest the gnostic tendency to favour spiritual over the body, where spirit
and body would be more balanced IMO. Male and female, heaven and earth, body and soul, make the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, never one in preference to the other. I propose that sayings 22 and the last saying are mutually exclusive, and from two different mindsets.
As to saying 22, that's much better on the male/female opposite pairs logic, but what does it mean to make eyes (plural) in place of an eye? It's odd.
