A couple years ago my good friend killed himself too. Being a medium, I have since interacted with his spirit and he is in a good place (exploring nature currently, like he always wanted). It is not the act that determines where in the afterlife they find themselves (which is itself a journey, not a destination be it heaven or hell), but the frame of mind they were in when it occured. My friend was at peace in his kayak on his favorite fishing lake, and came over very lucid.
