Obviously incompetent . A work like that deserves much more of an accolade than "Good work". At the very least you should have been offered a place in the best and most exclusive art colleges in any of the major capital cities ( and I should know, my son is an artist)....
In my mind it's a case of "forget the lace, it's about the face .."
