Many know that dolphins & some?) whales originate from Sirius, well a planet in that constellation I believe. Some say whales are the original ones from there & dolphins arrived much later .... not their bodies , but their essence-souls.

Sirius is also known as the water planet.

Anyway a few researchers-psychics have verified they're highly telepathic and whales are believed to be the record .keepers for earth history. They've been around a very long time.

Dolphins (all or some varieties , not sure) also are highly telepathic and are considered our resident link with other ET species
I made up this term but since they',re constantly telepathically linked to other off planet species, it seems appropriate.

Look up John C Lilly, Joan Ocean, both well versed in this.
John was the pioneer in interspecies research .... and his books are astonishing

Several yrs ago I'd been reading a book on them, and just walking down a busy sidewalk suddenly I saw 2 dolphins (clairvoyantly, underwater) and they escorted me to meet their elder-leader. I have no idea what it meant, but they've appeared on occasion during meditation since then. To say hi, primarily.
I've always had a fascination with the ocean but rarely visited there. To me it's as wonderous as deep space.

This is a bit off topic but communication with other lifeforms is among my fave subjects.
