The time just before you fall asleep (but are still conscious enough to remember) can be packed full of useful tidbits of information for you like this one was.
I am having a hard time following your dream-memory here though... You are feeling the sensation of being stabbed through the heart, but it was you that did the stabbing? (I get confused on the paragraph if you are describing what the person who was stabbed looked like, or what the person who did the stabbing looked like.)
