Just by grounding and sheilding yourself love, I personally just invision roots going down into the earths collective and pulling up pure white energy, snapping it round me like a second skin then puffing it out so it surrounds me too :)
You will know when you are open and ready, your guides are there to do just that.. guide. They will respect your choices although they may advise against if they feel you are not ready - but that is all they will ever do is advice :)
