Yes it's always good to investigate more down to earth possible solutions first before other things.
I thought I saw a UFO once, as a grey oval shape moved across the sky maybe about 2 miles away. I sat in the car and watched it travel...
Then it moved in my direction and started to break up. A view through binoculars showed me it was a "murmuration" of Starlings!
(Not by the way, saying UFO sightings are all like this!)
