I would go with some of his more recent stuff. As most spiritual seekers, they learn more and more over the years. However, a lot of his older stuff is quite good as well.
Don't worry about the heavy going stuff. Watch it and let it sink in. The heavy going stuff is the gold mine in my opinion. You could also check out Ram Dass whom Dyer saw as a mentor. One of the best in the western society.
