I have heard that objects made of metal are much easier to practice with as they hold impressions much better, but have seen it done with other objects, even plastic ones quite successfully. Agree with Jenny that the key to this and just generally taking note of psychic impressions is to catch those extremely fleeting little thoughts, sometimes the quickest little impressions that could easily be ignored are the most accurate ones, and that takes a bit of practice... Would love to hear how you go with this!
