[sandalwood]

A poem in remembrance of my dearly departed guardian
who will continue to bring me sunshine in life forevermore

My first breathes were in her arms, her last were in mine
And now my everyday is marked by a tender loving sign.
To think I’ve gained so many loves that she had had preceding,
For the mountains she’d been born in,
A love for cooking, writing, singing,
And though it pains me now to say, a love for one another.
Because, and though this may sound strange from me,
I’ve always loved her like a mother.
