Gayatri is a goddess,she is five-faced and each face has a different hue and colour.she is an embodiment of all Hindu Gods and Goddesses.The sun,on one hand is known as Gayatri,in a feminine aspect,and Aditya,in a masculine aspect.
she is almighty and all-powerful.Gayatri mantra is a prayer made to her.Im sure you know the mantra.it is an all-powerful mantra,to be said thrice between 4-8 AM,at 12 noon,and between 4-8 PM.
God is one,and Lord Krishna says in his Bhagawad Gita,that He is Om,the gayatri mantra etc. thus saying that mantra can wipe of all ur sins and karma done during the entire day.it is also said that the gayatri mantra can protect,heal etc.and should never be given up.it is equivalent to getting the merit of reading the vedas,but only if you know its entire meaning,and then chant.
