Hello,

In searching this topic (and much thanks to previous posters for great info on this) I came upon the below linked site, where Sri Chinmoy set a number of classical mantras to music, including the Gayatri Mantra which is imo, quite striking in his version. This adds another dimension to these mantras that I found inspiring and moving because in setting them to music there is the possibility of more accessibility, less 'dryness' than can be an issue with straight chanting - as long as the melodies are good, and that seems to be the case here. Hope this is useful for others who have an affinity with these mantras.
