I was raised in a strict Christian household that taught any contact with spirits is contacting demons. Vaguely recalling a story in the bible where a king (haha who? I dont remember) saught out a medium to talk to the spirits of dead kings. He was punished for communicating with 'familiar spirits'. This is the story most Christians will recite when discussing mediumship. Is it evil? I guess that's up for the individual to find out for themselves. I dont think so.
