Going 'beyond religion' is basically changing to different beliefs. It's still religion. And I have no idea why that idea bothers people so much, other than they just desperately need their Ultimate Truth for some reason.
I say let it go and don't be afraid to call beliefs beliefs; don't be afraid to realize it's just another belief system in a long line, and will be updated to something different later. I just don't have an attachment to it, I see beliefs as something to serve me, I don't serve them.
