We had one walking across our lawn a few weeks ago. However, I agree with you; the decline in hedgehog numbers is worrying. Destruction of hedgerows by farmers is one big problem - in their desire for enlarged fields and higher profits. People being careless while strimming near hedges is another reason. It is sad.
