Energy is possible to obtain from many things including the air we breathe and sunlight and loving vibrations....etc.
But we are physical bodies too, and live with the laws of Physics and Biology while we are visiting this world. There is no harm in that.
My opinion? (This will probably become outdated in the year 30,000, but....) we need food!
