IndigoGeminiWolf, I am also reiki attuned and I work with energy without using the reiki symbols. In my opinion, the symbols used in reiki are used just as a point of intention or focus. If we use our intention and focus it is still energy regardless. I became skeptical after seeing how many versions of reiki are out there, not to mention new and additional symbols for which we have to pay to get by taking these additional courses. People work with energy and have great results without ever being attuned to reiki at all. I don't know, I just raise an eyebrow every time I see how these additional reiki courses are marketed.
