Interesting perspective, I hadn't thought of it like that - I was much more sympathetic towards the position of Hoffman's character, I thought he was just looking out for a vulnerable kid but ended up getting on the wrong side of a person (Streep) who was resistant to any change to the existing power structure.
Fantastic performance from Streep either way, though.
