You can get a clue by looking at the healing practices which are practiced now in East-West.
Western healing relies on two strands - drugs and surgery. Whereas the East did not develop surgical intervention to the same degree but concentrated on non-invasive methods - acupuncture as a typical example.
Both east and West had strong shamanic traditions, so spiritual healing common all over the planet. Drugs industry grew out of herbalism. Eastern Europe is still very strong in herbal medicine because they never developed a pharmaceutical industry.
IMO, there is not that much difference between East and West in healing methods.
