Excellent thread - I've been thinking about this question all day!!
I would go back to when I was about 15-16 yrs. old - when both my parents were still alive, when my sister was still married, and my two neices were babies, and everyone was happy.....and I would tell myself to not get too attached to anyone, because most people will just end up disappearing....:(
