333xforever, the Akashic Records do exist and are available for consultation by those who are spiritually ready to view them. Things are not that simple, however. The ARs are protected from interference by Guardians. They also limit access to only such information as one can handle at that moment.
The past and present are consultable, but the future is a complex issue. All beings have free will and during each incarnation awareness of our spiritual objectives is deliberately hidden by amnesia (full or partial). If we all knew exactly what we were going to do at every moment of our current lives, then this would interfere with our free will to choose at every moment of our presence here. However, by consulting your Higher Self or past lives, you can often gain an indication of your purpose on this earth - but not the fine print!
Therefore, even those who wish to view their future are normally refused (a blank page, if you like) or are sometimes shown various crucial "turning points" in the future, where the choices are yet to be made. Free will is crucial at all times.
