I don't think it is as simple as this, my guides tell me that they are a band of angels, there are different types like there are different roles in any profession. However, when it comes to actual types it is a concept that does not exist for them, my guide is saying that they are just of light - they do not deal in difference.
The only reason that they show themselves as different to us, or in a form is for our own comfort, in fact they have no form - they are just pure energy.
My guide is saying that they work with us in different ways, they support us and they may take on different skills, etc to help us, however in the end they are just that angelic guides - whether we see them as shamanic, animal spirit, angels etc etc, they are just light.
Sorry My guide - is loving the word light - in the explanation I am getting a feeling they are not of this world. There are not definitions because they do not have that type of thinking or being...
