Met a root today
With my toe
And the Forrest
Floor
With my hands and knees.
It smells lovely
As it smarts me too
The pine of old meeting
New
The pain of pride flying
Helplessly
Irreversibly to the ground
The stain of fear
As I try and wear it
Loosely and leave it
At an unnoticed moment.
Can I speak of the steps
Before the fall?
Can I lead my friends
And foes to the feast of
Fellows
And drink with them.
Or do I need to leave
To find the finders of roots,
The callers of falls,
The heeders of heads first.
I do not mind the fall
I ****ing wish I could trust
The trusted
Blindfolded on my path as I am.
