Apparently Picasso had nothing to do with it!

He was quoted as saying it was all down to the brush!

Although I'm sure the paint would have something to say about that!

He was once complimented on his artistry by an admirer who also pointed out that the paintings had nothing to do with real life as he saw it and couldn't understand how they represented reality.

Picasso immediately asked, "Do you have a sweetheart or girlfriend?" to which he answered yes. He was then asked did he have a photograph of her, which he did and showed Picasso.

Picasso studied the photograph for a while with some puzzlement and asked, "Is she really that small?"
