it's interesting how it works, but we don't make anything disappear, we stop identifying with it, stop giving it energy, stop being entwined with it through higher self awareness, then it goes away on it's own either from perception entirely, or it changes what it is to us, changes form/relational meaning. like being upset if somebody scratches "our car" but if the car next to it is scratched we don't care, no effect... it's the identification as me or mine that produces certain experiences and reactions/effects. so a sudden insight that a thought is not me or mine immediately produces a change in relational experience

one thought always replaces another, it's a stream, always moving. we don't make thoughts, the brain does, but there is a relationship there, we direct the attention, usually by habit, and the brain produces the thought based on billions of very complex calculations, one of which is how often our attention goes to the thing! so the brain will rank thought responses

then of course scientists have discovered the production of thought slows down or stops if we are aware of our thoughts from a higher perspective
