Hi Miss Hepburn,

If by the word 'consciousness', you mean the fabric of this entire universe, then you're right—everything in this creation is made of the same underlying, universal material. But if by 'consciousness', you refer to the property of knowing, then you're definitely wrong.

For example, a rock does not 'know' as we humans can. Even animals and plants can 'know', but to a far lesser degree than us humans. There probably are other creatures who 'know' far more than we ever can although we may not be able to perceive their existence presently. The point I make here is that 'knowing' is associated with 'feeling' and responding to certain stimuli; this is not seen in every form of energy/matter.

The meaning of a word can change from context to context. But the underlying truth remains the same.
