During the 11th and 12th century CE, the Majapahit Empire dominated all of South East Asia, bringing with it the art and traditions of Nepal...So even though the statue was made in Bali, it is a copy of the Buddhist and Khmer art from Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and parts of Laos dating to the 12th Century.
