I agree that everyone has the right to choose whether to practice magic or not. Anyone can study, learn and put their knowledge into practice. However, I believe that a practitioner should not choose to work a healing on someone without their permission as that can interfere with their life/soul journey. But that is different than the statement "to choose whether or not to be INVOLVED in magic. No witch/conjurer/root doctor or magician is going to approach their target and ask their permission to throw a curse on them. In the world of witchcraft it's not considered "playing god" it's considered looking after yourself or stopping someone in their tracks from harming you or your family. Yes, cursing someone is spiritual attack instead of physical attack. Think back to the days of the slaves in the United States - spiritual attack was the only way they had to defend themselves and/or control someone.
