It can help as meditation helped me to stop smoking and I’d say it’s a similar addiction.
A few things I did have to do and these may seem extreme.
1 - Took a few days off work
2 - Came off social media
3 - Basically ignored the world for two days
I literally spent two days, relaxing, meditating and looking after myself.
It worked for me, so I would suggest it would work for others also
