Hi blueladybird,
a very good book about energy healing is 'Hands of Light' by Barbara Ann Brennan, in case you're interested. It's kinda of a standard and explains how it works very well, even on a scientific basis. It's not exactly an easy read though.
I also totally agree with Melahin.
