It is not an ongoing thread as such but let me then dig out a blast from the past for you ...
importance of inner cleansing
Just as we would not like to enter a dirty room
Unless it is first swept clean with a broom
The subtle energy prefers not enter our body
Until cleansed of elements rough and rowdy!
The fears, the desires, the feral instinct
We would do well to make them extinct
The ego, the self, the reflex to cheat
Lay them all down at our masters feet!
That erratic thought or the selfish emotion
Calm them down from its state of commotion
Do ask, who, what, where, when and how
But remain present in the here and now!
In meditation, with the divine we seek to unify
Hoping that our inner resonance will amplify
It is akin to the inert velleity of a woodcutter lax
Before we begin, let us first sharpen our axe!
