I keep mine in a small wooden box on my altar but I also put them in glass dishes when I want to put them in sun and moon light with the exception of citrine which will fade in sun light. Surprisingly crystals are pretty tough if you drop them they usually just get a scratch or a small dent. I am very clumsy and I have nicked a couple by dropping them. I did notice if you literally drop/plop a few into a cloth pouch they will crack or nic each other so if you go that route place them gently in the pouch and try to be very careful the biggest problem I've had with damage was using this method so I never put more than 3 in a pouch and keep all quartz crystal points seperate the little ones are delicate. But for overall storage you can basically sit them anywhere and they will be safe (:
