It's almost as if the term free will is somewhat loaded to fail simply because the paradigm that created it is the perceptive index in which to view it which feels somewhat to speak of lack whereas if we look at it as will of the free then this states somewhat that we already have it and exercise it all the time.
Once upon a time was, and was within the time, and through and around the time, the little seedling sown, was always and within, and the huge great tree grown.
