Ewwerin, can see your point but think you're missing that among the distortions there is truth. i don't think any scripture can be excluded because of the truth that's in it, even if you or me or others see distortions as well. the same goes for followers of religions. many hook into the truth and become fine individuals
also its the shared truth that gives the hope for tolerance in the religions
there is no way to radically change things short of some state sanctioned control that extends way into people's lives, which is an obscenity
i think its better to focus on what is true and believe it has the power to overcome distortions which leads to some optimism as well which i think is justified!
