In my view, some men are not as in touch with their feminine side as other men. You can say that they are not awake yet. That is a reasonable explanation.
My experience has been that men who listen to women when they speak are focusing on her energetically. They can sense feelings beyond the words.
Another perception I have is that thinking we focus our attention on generates emotions. When a guy is not conscious of his thinking, his emotions will run his life.
