I like this idea. So the beetle gave you a chance for a surprise tarot reading. But you don't have to have a reading, unless you want.
It has been a while since I read tarot, but I took a look at Kim Huggens'
Tarot 101 book. 'The King of Swords as an authority figure' idea is clearly there. King of Swords is also an analytical, strategic thinker.
Some interpretation ideas:
Think before you act. Then act. This one is hard to do when you are scared.
Try to see insects more analytically. Can you read a popular science book about them? You could choose a book about some less frightening species, or a book with drawings instead of photographs. Unfortunately I can't recommend such book.
