You did the kindest thing for little Lucy, when her organs were failing her like that. Being alive on Earth was no fun for her any more.
It is OK that you couldn't go in with her to be put to sleep, and your brother helped you. Lucy won't mind. She will always love you for being a good Cat Mom.
It is very hard to lose any loved one, when you have shared so much for a long time, 16 years. She will watch over you. Bless her Soul.
