This is a strange thing that happens in some cultures, the fish is seen as separate from meat. In other countries, like Italy and Thailand, you can say you don't want meat but they'll still give you small bits of pork in your meal. They think meat must be a big chunk. The word 'meat' can be ambiguous, so ''animal part'' would be more clear.
