I would go right to moonstone and clear quartz, especially the former, for female-related issues.

But I'd also have a word with the doctor to find out what other things I might do to help matters. I would do some research into herbs that I might use, too, especially for the physical symptoms like hot flashes.

Speaking of which -- I have not had hormone-related hot flashes yet (though as I'm pushing 50, I know those days are not far in the future). But I do take a medicine called Niaspam (a B vitamin) that can cause whole-body heat and flushing for a while after taking it. I have successfully found relief with an item that seems to be quite popular these days: cooling towels. They're special cloths that hold lots of water (though they don't drip), and they use evaporative cooling to help a person feel cooler. I have one called a Chilly Towel, and another pair called Xtreme Cooling Towel. They help both with Niaspam flushing and also for preventing overheating during exercise.

We can't post links to items for sale here, but if you were to google or search ebay for "cooling towel", you'll find a long list of items to choose from, most of which are pretty reasonably-priced.
