I am also coming to full terms with something else...something
huge and almost equally as important as my Balinese culture and tradition.
From early on, I have worshipped Shiva in the form of Kala Bhairava.
From early on, it was a mixture of Agama Hindu Dharma and Pashupati Shaivism.
ALL of the time, it seemed like Kala Bhairava was a 'minor deity' which 'nobody worshipped'. I couldn't find a society, culture or tradition that DID!
Until a while ago, when I took a little online holiday to Karnataka and I saw...I saw hundreds of people worshiping Kala Bhairava!!...huge beautiful temple complexes dedicated to Him...lots of happy people in bright, colourful clothes dancing in the streets and singing praises to Him...I was like "WOAH!!!...COOOOL!!!...AWESOME!!!...I can
so see myself being there and doing that". I FINALLY found where I belong and to what school of Shaivism...one that nowhere on the whole internet makes any mention of!
I'm going to give a few music/bhajan links now, taken from a devotional Kannada film.
Kannada language has some similarities to Hindi, but it is totally different. I can get one word in every three, but I have also made up my mind that this is the next language I am going to study and become fluent in.
Now, there are some 'BONUS POINTS' for you guys if you can answer this question.
In the beginning of each video, an introduction is shown with a holy man or guru showering blessings....there are also a few scenes throughout where this Guru is being worshiped - I NEED A NAME!
