It absolutely helps to have people to talk to who understand what you are going through. It is hard to be different all by yourself.
Some people are very close minded and dismissive and if they can't at least accept you how you are then they are not very useful. They aren't to me because it is uncomfortable to feel judged and misunderstood.
I do many things and I might shift from one potential label to another depending on what I am doing. Labels are misunderstood and assumptions are made, so I avoid them personally...I do have a label that I identify with but it is not something that anybody else would understand...I don't even understand what it means and that is the truth.
I prefer to be flexible and be whoever I need to be to serve the purpose at hand.
That is just how I see it. I have a name, and plenty of aliases so that works.
