I guess it depends on the device you are hearing it on and what headphones you use etc, because after being shown how to hear "Laurel", I still can't hear it unless the upper register of the sound frequency has been totally removed.
Having said that, what if you were just asked to listen to this sound byte without anybody saying what to listen out for? I doubt either "Yanni" OR "Laurel" would immediately spring to mind..So, I can also very clearly see how inference affects perception.
