Oh for sure, but it takes a certain level of awareness.
We have what is called automatic thinking which comes from the subconcious mind.
Changing the concious narrative is difficult as it is.

A good way to do this is always challange the negative things you say to yourself about yourself. And if you are mindful of what you are saying to yourself the subconcious thoughts will slow down and you can challenge them as well. Another thing that helps is to journal about your positive thoughts toward yorself and things you are greatful for. It takes time, but it is so worth the effort.
