Nitiananda-Seeing as there are different versions, it may be an idea to start with the version of the ten you accept, eg I think the murder one is also interpreted as 'Killing' so could apply to animals and plants too.
(I think the above if 'not killing' is accepted instead of 'not murdering' is qualified later in the Bible, in that these can be carried out for God or for survival I think)
