i suppose i'm in agreement with desert rat in thinking that
soul fragmentation doesn't happen. personally, i'm leaning towards
the idea that the soul is of a quantum nature, meaning that it is
the smallest division possible (it is indivisible further)... unless we
introduce the concept of "twin flames", which some may consider
to be paired half-souls in growing into wholeness.

the movie Here Comes Mister Jordan (1941) touches on
your OP sohamfan11. in that flick, the memories of the
form (body) remained intact, but there had been a soul exchange.
