Feelings of guilt and failure which arise surrounding suffering are seen as feelings which move, dissipate rather than are static and here to stay. So if these sufferings, if I may call them that, arise, the realisation of oneness has a purify effect upon them. At least it gives rise to ecstatis, in the sense that all things that arise must dissipate, that there is divine movement or oneness again, although it has never really arisen or dissipated. What was born and died was the episode of suffering or disconnect as you say.
