Sounds like you have a regular bulb.
Another reason why you might not be experiencing and feeling the ion effect of the lamp might be due to your heating/cooling system. Your heating/cooling system might be doing such a good job that the effects of the lamp might be getting distributed thru out your home instead of staying in one area.
